Hi everyone! I hope you’re all having an awesome day. Thanks for joining me as we discuss more books that can revolutionize your mindset. We talked about Rich Dad Poor Dad as the first of the three books on my list, so now we’re going to cover the remaining two. Let’s jump right in!

2. The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss

I’ve read this book more recently and frequently than Rich Dad, Poor Dad. There are many things I don’t agree with in terms of the author, but the book says a lot about outsourcing your life. What can you do to create a life where you have an abundant amount of time to pursue other ventures? This book taught me more about how the “average person” can free up time by outsourcing things. The author also elaborates on a concept that we coach on quite a bit, the 80/20 rule (also known as the Pareto principle), which is about focusing on the vital few things that will give you the greatest results with the least amount of time, effort, energy, and resources.

This really gave me a kick to explore virtual assistants overseas, which I’ve done with great success. I’ve found that if you’re in America and have a reasonable degree of income, you can use overseas talent to accomplish things at a fraction of what it would cost to do it here. I utilize this in all areas of life. In fact, I’m currently working with a Spanish tutor from Venezuela. This is just another example of how you can outsource your life in many ways, which is very applicable in business.

3. The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone

I read this book two to three years ago. It stretches your mindset to think about growth in business and in life faster than you could without applying this 10X rule. You might be wondering how you 10X something you’d like to grow. I’ll explain with the following example: Let’s say you have a business that has $100,000 in revenue this year, how can you get to $1 million within the next 12 months? If you get to $1 million, you will have 10Xed your revenue. This concept stretches your mind to think “Wow, I’m at $100,000, but to get to $1 million in a year, there are a lot of things that I need to do differently. There are a lot of things I need to do that I haven’t even thought about before.”

You then work your way backwards and you’ll think things like “Well, in order to get to $1 million, I’m going to need 10 times the number of clients I have right now.” You then ask yourself precisely how you’ll do that, and you might realize you need to invest a lot more in marketing to generate more qualified leads. You’ll also need more people to close those leads and more still to facilitate the work that will need to be done once you get those new clients. It’s just a brain stretch that will make you think bigger than you would had you not gone through the 10X rule. I didn’t completely love the book, but I absolutely love the rule itself.

If you want to get better at mindset you might want to consider reading these books (or maybe some other books that have been recommended to you) so that you can experience greater results. As always, make it a better than amazing day!
