Seven Tips for Boosting Your Business in Five Minutes or Less

Today, we’re going to talk about how to boost your business in 5 minutes or less. I’m sure we can all create 5 minutes a day to work on some of this stuff. So let’s jump right in with the seven ways:

1. Follow up with prospects quickly. Maybe you’re having a hectic day, but you get a hot or warm lead. Maybe a prospect joins your email list, or you get a voicemail, text message, whatever. Take five minutes and call them back quickly, even if you can’t talk long. This will exponentially increase the probability of them becoming a client of yours in the future.

2. A daily five-minute huddle with another team member or vendor. Have a quick tag-up. Let the other person know what’s going on today. Maybe you have one metric you track every day that you can go over with them. That will make a huge impact on driving your business forward, especially if you have people on your team.

3. Customer appreciation touch. Listen, there’s something about just reaching out and saying “thank you” to a customer. Maybe it’s a hand-written note you send out, a quick call, or even a text message. Each of these will take five minutes or less. But over time, if you spend the five minutes every day doing something small like that, it’ll definitely make a big difference on your business.

4. Take five minutes to recite positive affirmations every day. Or, you can instead say what you’re appreciative of or thankful for. Imagine what that will do for your mindset. It’ll get you going, and provide a huge boost to your business.

5. Take five minutes to educate yourself. Like what you’re doing now, reading this educational blog post. Any type of improvement-oriented content or information that’ll help get you to where you want to be will do.

6. Take the first five minutes of the day to pre-plan the rest of your day. What are the top 1-3 things you want to accomplish each day? Who are you going to reach out to? Who are you going to touch? What does your calendar/schedule look like? Just spending those five minutes or less to plan things out every day will make a huge impact on your business.

7. Along with the previous point is this one: for some people, it’s not great or ideal to do the five-minute planning first thing in the morning. Maybe you’d rather pre-plan the day before. For example, if you stop working at 5PM daily, do your pre-planning at 4:55PM. Take the last five minutes of your workday to plan for the next day. That’ll give you peace at home, with your family or by yourself, and you won’t have to worry or think about work all night. It’ll give you a boost of productivity the following day as well.

So I just want to encourage you to spend five minutes a day for a boost. Go out and take action on some these. Make it happen, and make it a better than amazing day.
